HELLES LAGER

HELLES LAGER

Retired

First brewed in Munich in 1894, Helles Lager was Bavaria’s answer to the growing popularity of Czech Pilsners. Instead of bold hop bitterness, brewers created a bright, golden lager with a smooth malt character that quickly became a staple in German beer gardens.

Straw yellow and brilliantly clear, it opens with aromas of fresh-cut grass, lemon and lime zest, and light hay-like grain.

A touch of malt sweetness is balanced by low bitterness and bright carbonation, finishing crisp, clean, and remarkably refreshing.
